AW: Please tell us a bit about yourself and back ground?
LB: I grew up on a ranch in north central South Dakota. When I was 19, I began a newspaper journalism career, which garnered me some national and state awards. With the decline of print journalism, I decided to branch out and began to write books and work independently as a free-lancer. I currently work as a contractor at American Airlines in Tulsa. I am married to a wonderful man and I have two children - a daughter, 6; and a boy, 2 months.

AW: Is there a message in this novel you want your readers to grasp?
LB: The primary message in my book is to have faith. There is still light, even in your darkest hour. Having faith in those times is not easy, but it can be done and God will help you if you let Him help you.
AW: Who created your cover?
LB: My cover was created by my friend Andy Jacobs. He is an artist I worked with at the Rapid City Weekly News before that paper went out of business. I was a big fan of his weekly cartoons and his weekly cover page art. He is currently a tattooist in Norman, OK.
AW: Do you have any other novels out there? If not, what's next?
LB: My first novel is available - Ethereal Influence: The Birth. I am currently working on a horror. I am not sure on the title of it, yet.
AW: When did writing become a passion?
LB: Writing has been a passion of mine since I was a child. Every single person in my family is a big reader. So, I wanted to create something other people could read and enjoy. I would write short stories and share them with my class at school. I would write poetry. It was not until I was in junior high that I decided I wanted to be an author some day.
AW: Is this a series? If so, tell us a bit about the books planned.
LB: This is the second book in the Ethereal Influence series. After I get done writing my horror, I plan on starting the third book in the series, which will revolve around a mosque.
AW: Any advice for other writers?
LB: My advice is to never give up! Everyone has an opinion and not everyone will like what you write. If you get an upsetting criticism of your work, just stop and remember the nice things that have been said about your writing.
AW: Favorite Authors?
LB: My favorite authors are Anne Rice, John Grisham, Dan Brown, Dr. Seuss and Edgar Allen Poe. Each one has something different to offer and each one has inspired me in some way.
AW: Favorite Books?
LB: My favorite book ever is 1984. I read it in high school and it thrilled me then. Other favorite books include the Dragonlance Chronicles, The Da Vince Code and A Painted House.
Good luck with your novel, Lana,
Kind wishes,
Adrienne
